Tashkent - Samarkand - Tashkent
The Jewel of Islam, the Pearl of the East, the Centre of Universe - this is how Samarkand was praised by the writers and poets of old. Like other great centres of the ancient world, such as Babylon, Thebes and Rome, Samarkand has a rich and turbulent past. The magnificent buildings, created by Temur and his successors, have outlasted the ages and still evoke admiration: Registan Square - a visual feast of medieval majolica and mosaics decoration; Shakhi-Zinda complex - a chain of graceful, sparkling blue shrines along the ancient hills of Afrosiab; Gur-Emir Mausoleum - the ultimate haven of Temur and many members of his dynasty, Bibi-Khanum Mosque- the construction full of romance, and, of course, Ulugbek's observatory - the arresting wonder of Samarkand.
We invite you to follow the example of ancient travelers and make the unforgettable Golden Journey to Samarkand!

The first 'milestone' of the trip is town Gulistan - the capital of Syr Darya Province and big industrial centre of cotton-cleaning industry. After approximately one-hour ride you will reach the settlement Chinoz on the right bank of the Syr Darya river. Two more hours and up you ride to the rocky Pass of Jilanuti in the Turkestan range. Immediately after the pass you enter the area called Bakhmal district famous for its gardens and vineyards.
